Earlier this year, we wrote 5 Myths about E-Learning—Busted!  It was just a quick outline of all the little myths and misconceptions agencies, educators, supervisors and even caregivers have about e-learning. Then, Cassie Grimm, one of our Caregiver Training Advisors said, “There is so much more to this story!” So, we challenged her to write it!

In the coming weeks, we’ll feature Cassie’s insights and in-depth analyses on each of the 5 Myths. Prepare to be amazed!

E-Learning Myth #1: You Need a Computer to do E-learning

Cassie GrimmIn a recent poll, we asked “what’s holding you back from trying E-learning with your caregivers?” While we received a variety of responses, a whopping 94% answered, “My caregivers don’t have computers.”

Well, we have good news! Your caregivers don’t need computers to reap the benefits of E-learning. Our mobile-friendly app, In the Know On the Go, allows caregivers to access their modules from any device with an internet connection.

Smartphone Access

Even if your caregivers don’t have access to a personal computer or laptop, it’s extremely likely that they own a smartphone, tablet, or other smart device they can use for E-learning.

According to a recent PEW Research Center report, 95% of Americans now own a cell phone of some kind. Today, many Americans use smartphones as their primary means of internet access. This is especially true for those with lower incomes. In fact, a 2016 study found that one-fifth of adults making $30,000 or less annually were “smartphone-only” internet users.

Not Just a Trend

It’s no secret that the internet isn’t going anywhere, and smartphones definitely aren’t a passing fad. By 2021, the number of global smartphone users is expected to double, and mobile data will increase seven-fold. Implementing a mobile-friendly learning platform will keep your organization current in a rapidly changing market.

An App as Easy as 1-2-3

One of the main goals of E-learning with In the Know is to make your CE process less stressful. Our app is easy to install and even easier to use. We provide step-by-step instructions to help your caregivers download the app on any device. It really is as simple as download, log in, and learn. Your caregivers will benefit from interactive content, friendly in-app reminders, and quizzes that provide immediate feedback.

With In the Know On the Go, caregivers can access continuing education virtually anywhere, anytime. Don’t let E-learning myths hold you back.
