CNA INSERVICE PUBLISHER LAUNCHES PROGRAM FOR MULTI-SITE ORGANIZATIONS
Durham, NC, August 2005: In the Know, Inc., the premier publisher of inservice training materials for certified nursing assistants, announced the launching of its new program for
clinical healthcare organizations with multiple locations. Know Now©
provides inservices for "multi-site" home care agencies, hospitals, nursing homes, etc., via the organization's intranet, ensuring educational consistency while saving the organization money and time. "Providing inservice training in a single location is challenging enough." says In the Know founder Linda Leekley, RN. "Making it consistent in lots of locations is even harder. Our program ensures that the aides in the Cleveland branch are getting the same training as the aides in the Tampa branch."
REQUESTS FROM LARGER ORGANIZATIONS HAVE INCREASED In the Know has historically sold its inservices individually and in "custom packs", but has
seen a sharp increase in the number of inquiries from regional and nationwide healthcare providers with multiple locations who want to have consistent training in all of their branches. With Know Now©
, Leekley and her staff have engineered an inservice delivery system that can be customized for the client, depending on how they operate. "We offer two delivery
systems. The first is what we call our "intranet" delivery, where we prepare a CD with the selected inservices and ship it to the main office, which loads it onto their server. All of their
remote offices then have access to the same inservices at their locations by downloading and printing out their copies. Alternatively, if our client has offices with widely varying patient
populations, we prepare a different set of inservices for each location. They choose their own topics and their preferred format (paper or CD), and we ship directly to each location."
Leekley says that the intranet delivery system is very appealing to those clients who are connected with an inhouse computer system. "It just makes the whole CNA training challenge so much easier," she says.
CLIENTS SEE SAVINGS IN BOTH TIME AND MONEY Know Now© offers her clients a real savings in time and in money, says Leekley. "We hear from our customers, particularly the nurse managers, all the time about how using our
inservices frees them up to do other things. Many of them tell us that they were used to spending up to a week's worth of time just preparing an inservice, not to mention the
logistics of actually doing the presentation and getting all of the aides together. Know Now© allows them to do group presentations or to allow their aides to do self-study. And
they know that the aides in all of their branches are getting the same level of education." And time spent by managers on this type of preparation translates to money spent that could
be saved. "Our inservices save our clients upwards of $500 for just one inservice, based on what we know about nurse salaries and time spent on training," says Leekley. "Our pricing for Know Now©
is based on the number of participating locations, so the higher the number of locations, the lower the per-location annual cost." With the Know Now© program, the
minimum number of locations for participation is five, and the per-location cost drops from $468.00 to as little as $121.68, depending on the number of locations involved. Membership in Know Now©
includes 12 inservices and a Membership Kit of additional inservice training materials.
